Cake : Cupcakes
As I have previously mentioned I love the idea of serving cupcakes in lieu of a wedding cake. I love this for a couple of reasons 1. they are just so cute 2. it’s easy to have a mix of flavors (ie: the brides favorite flavor & the grooms favorite flavor) 3. who doesn’t love cupcakes! In Boston we have more than one cupcake bakery in town. One of my favorites is Sweet, with locations in Back Bay and Cambridge. Their every day cupcakes are so beautiful you don’t have to do any extra to serve them at your wedding reception - but they would be more than happy to if you would like!
They even have mini cupcakes that are even more adorable than the full size. Mini cupcakes would be super sweet to server at a bridal or baby shower as well. Here is a little more about the bakery, Sweet is about providing the most amazing cupcake experience possible. All of the frostings, fillings and batters are freshly prepared from scratch and from the highest quality ingredients available. All of our cupcakes are baked each morning in the Sweet kitchen. Sweet cupcakes do not contain trans fats or stabilizers and are best enjoyed on the day that they are purchased.
And I can vouch for these tasty treats. Tim and I served them at our wedding. Lemon (my favorite) and Boston Cream Pie (his favorite). Everyone raved about them, and the presentation was adorable. Alternating every other flavor when served. I do recommend ordering a few extra, I know a few of our guests snuck a few home :o)
Sweet is located in Boston’s Back Bay at 49 Massachusetts Avenue between Marlborough Street and Commonwealth Avenue and in Harvard Square at Zero Brattle Street next to Curious George Books and Toys and across from The Coop.
